Pickling is a treatment of the hot rolled steel surface in order to
remove impurities, stains, rust or scale with strong mineral acids,
before subsequent processing, such as painting, galvanizing or plating
with tin or chromium. In the production of cold-reduced steel sheet
and strip, it is necessary that the oxide resulting during hot rolling
the steel slab is completely removed before cold reduction to prevent
lack of uniformity and eliminate surface irregularities.
MTI's Push-Pull Pickling Lines are the
result of extensive research and development, yielding the most effective
methods for preheating, acid concentration control, stain-free rinse
and turbulence/temperature control. As a result, you are ensured a
high-quality pickled coil with minimum dwell time. The line is virtually
fume-free and all roll openings are made with flexible covers to restrict
acid splash. Our Push-Pull and Continuous Pickling Lines meet customers'
critical need for high productivity and quality while protecting the
environment.
